Email Received from Jane Lewis, granddaughter of Rebecca:

Hi Stuart
Rebecca Pursey was born in 1879 and died in 1936 - my Dad can remember her, they lived on Street Cross at the time next to the Wessex Hotel. She had sisters: Tabitha, Frances, Hannah, Mrs George and Mrs Hillbarne. Her father was William Cornelius Pursey born 1830 and he was a stone merchant as you say at Stone Hill. His father was Cornelius Pursey born 1806, he was an accountant in Clarks at some point and he died in 1884. My Dad has a book written by him. He married Mary who was born in 1807 in North Perrott, and died 1885, I am not sure of her last name. They lived at West End in Street. That is as far as we go back, however I have a feeling that his father was from Shapwick and was called William and was born in 1770 and died 1827. Rebecca was my Great Grandmother.
