Walter was admitted to Bairnsdale Nursing home with cancer around 1944, the cancer was so bad that it had eaten away his left inner ear.
Walter died in the nursing home approximately 1945, he was survived by his 3 sons from his 1st marriage, Joe, Ronny and Ernie, and his second wife Ethel, who he married after his 1st wife died at a young age, Ethel was bedridden when married?
