Narrative
DEATH OF MRS. G. SYKES.
The death took place yesterday of Mrs. Maud Mary Sykes, wife of Mr. George Sykes, recently owner of a blacksmith's shop in Blende-street. Mrs. Sykes had been ill for some months, and had undergone operations at the Hospital. The deceased leaves two sons, Privates P. W. and A. F. Sykes, who are both on active service, and a daughter, Miss Ivy Sykes. The funeral will take place to-morrow, at 3 o'clock p.m., from the. residence of Mr. J. Cahill, 474 Lane-street. The inter- ment will be in the Methodist Ceme- tery. Members of the Lodge Umber- umberks, No. 141, of which Mr. Sykes is a member, are invited to attend.
